Canadian Pipeline Advisory Council

The Canadian Pipeline Advisory Council (CPAC), consisting of industry leaders from the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada and the four pipeline craft unions including the Labourers’ International Union of North America; the International Union of Operating Engineers; the International Brotherhood of Teamsters; and the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada, held a video conference meeting on November 16th, 2020.

CPAC was established in 1969 and for over 50 years continues to provide ongoing labour relations innovation, leadership and stability in the Canadian pipeline construction industry. At this most recent meeting, the CPAC members:

• Revisited the management and pipeline craft trades’ commitment to maximizing worker safety on all of our construction sites and activities.
• Reviewed the status of the various pipeline construction Collective Agreements.
• Discussed the construction requirements for the current major pipeline projects, including Coastal GasLink, TransMountain Expansion and Keystone XL.
• Confirmed support for and attendance at several upcoming industry events.
