Long-Delayed Enbridge Line 3 Pipeline Project Set to Open

Starting in October, Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge Inc., informed oil shippers that it would offer capacity for 620,000 barrels per day through its Line 3 pipeline.

The aging pipeline, which Enbridge is replacing, carries oil from Alberta to U. S. Midwest refineries. The reboot of this project signals confidence in completing the project and will eventually allow Enbridge to increase its capacity to
760,000 barrels per day.

The initial capacity breaks down to 350,000 barrels per day for light and 270,000 barrels per day for heavy crude.
