David Johnstone Appointed 2020 – 2021 PLCAC President

At the 2020 Annual General Meeting, David Johnstone, President of T.W. Johnstone Co. Ltd., was inducted as Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada’s (PLCAC) President for the 2020–2021 term of office.

David has been President of T.W. Johnstone Co. Ltd. since 1993 and has served as PLCAC President for three terms; in 1998–99, in 2006–07 and in 2013–2014. Along with being on the Executive Committee and a member of the Canadian Pipeline Advisory Council, David is the Chair of the Association’s Distribution Negotiating Committee.

Located in London, Ontario, T.W. Johnstone Co. Ltd. specializes in distribution pipeline construction, pipeline integrity and maintenance services, oil and gas gathering systems and directional drilling operations.

The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) was founded in 1954, following the construction of the original TransMountain pipeline.  The Association was formed to represent Canadian contractors in labour relations matters and to develop a Canadian-based workforce with the specialized technical, trade and craft skills required for pipeline construction and maintenance.  The Association also actively liaises with government, pipeline owning companies, pipeline craft unions and other external stakeholders as an advocate for the unionized pipeline construction industry.
