Benny Lui Receives 2021 Jack Cressey Future Leader Award
Benny Lui of Michels Canada Co. was presented with the Jack Cressey Future Leader Award on May 19th, 2021, during the 67th PLCAC Annual General Meeting.
Benny is currently Projects Controls Supervisor and is now leading project costing, scheduling and reporting on Michels’ pipeline and horizontal directional drilling projects (HDD). Benny has a team of 20 direct reports that have worked on projects such as Keystone XL, TC Energy NGTL Rocky View & Deep Valley, TransMountain Expansion and several large diameter HDD’s.
Along with being a key player in developing and implementing numerous information gathering and analysis systems at Michels, Benny has been in the Pipeline industry for more than ten years and has made continual excellent progress toward a senior leadership role.
“Parallel to his high workload here at Michels, Benny has completed an MBA from Kingston University to complement his Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and his AACE and PMP designation. He is a true achiever and also regularly joins with local Edmonton charities in fundraising efforts. All this while married with two young children”, said Mike Prior, Senior Strategic Advisor, Michels Canada Co.
The Jack Cressey Future Leader Award was established in 1995 in memory of Jack Cressey, board member and past president of the PLCAC, who was regarded as a strong leader with vision, integrity, and drive.
This award recognizes leadership and is open to all regular association members’ employees, from any segment of the company, who have yet attained executive status and have demonstrated leadership qualities of significance to their company.
