The Jack Cressey Future Leader Award was presented to Matthew Chorney of Banister Pipelines Constructors Corp. (Banister) on April 25, 2018, at the PLCAC Annual Convention. Matt is currently a construction engineer for Banister.

“During the 5 years Matt has been with Banister, he has been involved in 10 mainline projects (2 as a project engineer and 8 as a project manager), involving the installation of over 800 kilometers of pipeline and representing a total capital spend of over 1 billion dollars”, says Greg Hrabec, Vice President of Projects with Banister. “A notable accomplishment for Matt, through his role as Project Manager on a recent project for Syncrude, was preparing the estimate and bid package, attending pre-award meetings, and supporting implementation of the project.

Matt has a keen desire to improve the processes and management systems that Banister uses on a day-to-day basis to promote consistency and continuous improvement in the quality of the company’s work products.”
