19th Annual BC Natural Resource Forum

In the 19th BC Natural Resource Forum, Indigenous leaders, resource company senior leaders and the British Columbia provincial government discussed strengthening the province’s economy during their second virtual annual event.

Over three days participants took in perspectives and gleaned insight from the featured speakers and panelists on how we can be Stronger Together with BC’s Natural Resources. These discussions included:

• The challenges and opportunities facing British Columbia’s natural resource mining, mineral exploration, forestry and energy industries;
• Speakers discussed emergent strategic issues, including decarbonization, workforce and talent development, Indigenous partnerships and attracting investment to BC;
• Examining the resiliency in our supply chains and how interconnected our rural communities and urban center are both in BC and across Canada; and
• A Ministers’ Roundtable where key BC government cabinet ministers outlined today’s challenges and tomorrow’s objectives.

The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) was a platinum sponsor. PLCAC’s Lyall Nash, of TESTCO Western Ltd., shared his perspectives at the January 20th Fireside Chat, which also included notable leaders Chief Councilor Crystal Smith of the Haisla Nation and CEO of LNG Canada, Peter Zebedee.
